Follow on Google News | The Negotiations are final. KLAE, WANF, and KPPA join the Star Com FamilyThe negotiations are complete and KLAE, WANF and KPPA join the Star Com family of stations nationwide, but more is about to happen
KLAE FM, "Country with an Attitude" in Oregon, WANF AM, "The Progressive Apple" in New York, and KPPA FM, the "Show Me State of Mind" in Missouri are the newest additions to our family. We are also working along side of our friends at Old Geezer Radio in the UK in bringing our programs to stations in Nigeria and Ghana. While others are falling to the wayside, the Star Com Radio Network continues to grow. As Jan Starks, the CEO of Star Com Media stated, "We are proud of our recent achievements, but much more needs to be done. We are growing, plain and simple. Part of our growth can be credited to our great line-up of shows, including "The Ed Tyll Show", "The Making Sense Show" and shows from our overseas partners at OGR which include "The Scribble Show", "Caledonia Calling" to name a few. We expect to continue our growth throughout 2013 and well into 2014, plus we are expanding our endeavors to include television." Asked what are some of the 'near future' goals of Star Com Media, Mr. Starks replied, "We are currently looking into satellite uplinks, the purchase of several ground based television and radio stations abroad, the release of a new documentary by LaZer Productions, expansion of SCMTV to name a few. There are several other projects currently under consideration. We are exploring many avenues at this time, nothing is off the table." Asked about the sudden burst of new energy into the company, Mr. Starks replied, "The energy has always been there. However, given the recent economic situation of many stations, opportunity knocked and we simply answered the door. You have to understand that what we are doing here has never been done before, at least not on the micro-station level, and we are showing the world that an otherwise forgotten segment in the broadcasting arena is a viable and powerful untapped resource. LP stations around the country are essential to filling a much needed gap, and these small micro-stations look to us to afford them the means to achieve a goal that they themselves couldn't do individually. Star Com Media is the next generation in broadcasting with a network of micro-stations across the country and worldwide. We intend to remain on the cutting edge of the technologies available to us. We are opening avenues that were not heard of ten or twenty years ago for these stations." "Our staff is constantly on the look out for new and exciting ways to bring the LP station to the frontlines of broadcast America. We intend to show 'main stream' that there is a new powerhouse in this ever growing field, the micro-station. We intend to bring back journalistic integrity and keep entertainment where it belongs, not in a newsroom." To learn more, simply send an email to star_com_media@ End
