ORLANDO, Fla. - July 24, 2013 - PRLog -- ORLANDO, Fla.  –Orlando not only boasts world-renowned theme parks, the area also has many other family-oriented destinations that allow visitors to escape Florida’s heat without spending a ton of money.  Following are some recommendations ranging from the physical to the cerebral:

AirHeads Trampoline Arena (http://www.airheadsusa.com/orlando/) is Central Florida’s premier destination for airborne amusement where kids of all ages jump on gigantic wall-to-wall trampolines. In addition, the newest “Xtreme” sport to hit the area is Dodgeball, which takes on a whole new meaning when played on AirHeads’ fast paced, high flying trampoline arena. Not only does AirHeads provide fun and games in air-conditioned comfort, the experience is quite affordable and provides jumpers an aerobic workout. Guests enjoy quality refreshments at the AirCafe and can play one of over 40 arcade games in the AirCade.

The Grand Prix gives guests a thrill like no other.  With electric Italian-made “pro-karts” reaching speeds of 50mph, this indoor go kart racing facility gets the adrenaline pumping and creates competition by tracking progress around the track. Compete with friends and family on the most challenging GP track or relax in comfort at the lounge area, equipped with flat screens and free Wi-Fi. With more than 70,000 square feet (all indoors), this attraction is ideal for children and adults alike.

Ripley's Believe It or Not! (http://www.ripleys.com/orlando/) provides plenty of weird exhibits to marvel at. Located on International Drive, this attraction offers 16 unique galleries that pay tribute to the strange and odd from around the world. From a shrunken human head to a candy portrait of Beyonce, the galleries contain more than 100 seemingly unreal, head-scratching exhibits. Head over to this “Odditorium” for some freaky family fun.

iFly (http://orlando.iflyworld.com/) is an indoor skydiving attraction for the adrenaline junkies. iFly is equipped with a vertical wind tunnel with five 200 horsepower fans that circulate to create a wall-to-wall cushion of air, safe for guests to float. This attraction allows participants to experience true free fall conditions without a parachute or airplane. Plus, since there is no age limit or experience necessary, just about anyone can fly.

WonderWorks (http://www.wonderworksonline.com/orlando/) is an amusement park for the mind appealing to visitors of all ages. Highlights include 100 interactive exhibits ranging from an Inversion Tunnel to a Disaster Zone. Located on International Drive, guests will immediately notice the attraction’s dramatic exterior, which depicts a three-story tall building that appears to have landed upside down. After being turned right side up in the Inversion Tunnel, visitors can experience the trembling of an earthquake, be blown away by hurricane force winds, fly a fighter jet and much more.
