s Market patrons since the 1970’s as “Bernie”, is the sole owner of Pomo Tierra where he works tirelessly year-round making his niche apple ciders. For over thirty years he has been a staple of the Berkeley Farmer’
s Market. All of his cider’
s are locally made in Yorkville, CA from apples on his organic orchard and all of his ciders are USDA certified organic. For the first time ever Bernie’
s customers can get his ciders delivered to their East Bay homes and offices.
Golden Gate Organics owner, Corey Tufts, was approached by customer Jewelz Tucker and asked if he had ever heard of Bernie’
s Best Apple Cider, which she had previously purchased at the Farmer’
s Market. “I had never actually heard of that particular cider before.”
Tufts said. “Even after searching the internet, information was sparse on Bernie’
s operation. I eventually contacted another local business who sold limited amounts of his ciders and was able to get in touch with Bernie through them. Since then I have worked very closely with Bernie to bring his organic ciders to all Golden Gate Organics customers. Now everyone has the option to purchase his ciders with their CSA boxes.”

intuitive and user-friendly website, customers can choose among three box sizes; all feature a weekly changing menu of seasonal, local, and 100 percent certified organic fruits and veggies. Customers can select delivery dates and frequency, update account information, and customize their personal deliveries on the website.
Golden Gate Organics was recently nominated as best East Bay CSA in the East Bay Express’
annual “Best of the East Bay” issue but lost out to longtime CSA and farm, Full Belly Farm, 129 miles away in Guinda, CA.
