San Diego Healthy Chef Will Help You Shift How You See Food

July 23, 2013

San Diego, CA – ITEX in San Diego, http://www.itexinsandiego.com/, part of the oldest and largest barter network in the US, today announced that Chef Marian has joined the ITEX family of San Diego area businesses. In addition to providing her expertise regarding healthy and flavorful cooking, she is also a fun and exciting “food entertainer” who appeared on stage cooking at The Del Mar Fairgrounds four times in June.  She is a professional speaker regarding how to use, select and prepare a variety of foods to keep you healthy and prevent disease.

“If you like to cook or to eat, you have to meet Chef Marian,” says Art Kaliel, coordinator the San Diego ITEX organization. “She is an outgoing and enthusiastic speaker with an incredible store of skills for individuals and businesses. Food entertainment and demonstrations are a great way to liven up a party or a corporate meeting.”

“In today’s world, we have to play an active role in our health,” says Chef Marian. “Remember that ‘old dude’ Hippocrates who said: ‘Let Food be thy Medicine’? Well he was right. Foods can hurt or heal. I go for the ‘heal’….”

ITEX members can now hire Chef Marian to host a cooking party or wine tasting event at their home or business, or even have Chef Marian accompany them to the grocery store to demonstrate how to find and select the best and most healthy ingredients at the best prices.

Chef Marian works with restaurant owners to help recreate the menus to be healthier and more flavorful. In addition, she can go in as a 'mystery guest' and provide a written report about the food, ambiance, presentation and 'wait' staff to provide valuable feedback.

In addition to her culinary expertise, she is also an accomplished Photoshop and Video Production expert, and help a business properly leverage media to improve  market penetration and branding success.

“I have successfully used trade for decades for my businesses – trading for merchandise and business supplies as well as professional services,” says Chef Marian.  “If your business needs help with marketing and media, or you want to become a more knowledgeable food and wine consumer, or you’re tired of feeling tired and at the end of your work day, too exhausted to prepare good food, feel free to use your ITEX money. Chef Marian will cook with you on your day off, and save it all in FoodSaver Bags, so that all you have to do is warm a bag and add a salad when they ask “What’s for dinner”! You’ll build your knowledge base and cooking healthy, flavorful food in a short amount of time will become automatic!

More about Chef Marian

Chef Marian retired as a success in Business in 1988, having put one of the nationwide brands she created on the Cover of Inc. Magazine. She was nominated for the Ernest & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award three years in a row. Now it was time to follow her passion. As she made her way across France from Reims (Champagne) to Nuit St. George to Pauillac and Bordeaux, she enjoyed the tasting rooms, the cooking classes at world known restaurants. On a three-year trip around the world she cooked in kitchens in Firenze, Melbourne, Bangkok, Geneva, Amalfi, Lyon and London. As a member of The American Institute of Wine & Food (AIWF), she hosted a fundraiser for them and hosted a cooking webcast in Los Angeles teaching people worldwide how to cook and pair wine. She now does both filmed interviews with people in all industries, edits their shoot and posts it on YouTube or Vimeo. She interviews Chefs both on film and for her blog ChefMarian.com and continues doing Cooking Shows in San Diego. According to Art Kaliel and others: “You haven’t had a party until you’ve had one with Chef Marian. She’s funny, she’s quirky, she’s knowledgeable and everyone has a great time cooking.” As Chef Marian continues getting comments from people on the street who recognize her either from her blog, San Diego Foodies, any of her social media postings or online videos, it becomes apparent that she is headed towards Celebrity Chef status.
