Edward Snowden - Political Asylum - Christian View

July 15, 2013 - PRLog -- By now everyone has heard the name Edward Snowden, this is the NSA leaker, who has fled the country and is currently staying in Russia under Political Asylum.  It has now been rumored that Venezuela has offered him a place in their country.  The problem with
this is that the only flight to Venezuela (http://www.nydailynews.com/news/world/edward-snowden-stop-venezuela-article-1.1393824) stops off in Havana, Cuba. The U.S. has annulled his passport suspending further travel. And to get to Cuba from Moscow he would have to fly over Europe and the U.S.

Isn’t it amazing that today the world has become so small, mainly through the encroachment of technology, that it is almost impossible for a single man to disappear?  When you are an enemy of a nation the size of the United States of America there is almost no hole that you could find to get away from their prying eyes.  However it is possible to evade the courts of this world for some period of time, but there is coming a trial that all men must face and there will be no ducking this one.  For this trial comes for us all, and there is no where that this Judge cannot see. As long as you are separated from God through your sin (rebellion against God) you are an enemy of Him.  Psalms 139:8 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm+139%3A8...) says that “If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.”  Psalms 91:1 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm+91%3A1&...) says, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”  God is all knowing and everywhere all at once, surely there is nothing that you can do that escapes His attention.  If you think running from the technologically enhanced government is difficult, read the Word and find out just how futile it is to try to out run Him. The Good News is that He doesn’t want you to run from Him, quite the contrary He desires that you run to Him. This same all knowing, ever present, holy, righteous Judge of the universe is also loving, merciful, longsuffering, slow to anger and ready to forgive and lay not these sins at your charge. Jesus Christ stands ready to forgive and grant you access to salvation, if all you do is repent of them and ask Him to forgive you and trust that He will.  Jesus Christ is the only hope anyone has to everlasting life, examine your life and see if you are running from Him or to Him.  Remember there is therefore no more condemnation for those that are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.  (Romans 8:1 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans+8%3A1&...))
