Abandoning the strip club and urban club music wave currently saturating radios worldwide,  Jmal The Scholar decided this time to create a song true to his emotions. "Mustard Seed" takes his lyrical talent to a new height, as he introduces Gospel laced lyrics with the essence of Feel Good Music. His story is one to be heard by the masses and in this new song he doesn't hide his truth behind heavy club beats and unnecessary ad-libs.

In 2003, Jmal experienced a life altering accident that left him paralyzed and with no answer as to why this happened to him. Deciding that playing the victim was not an option for this former member of the United States Air Force, Jmal spent years perfecting his craft as an artist and traveling the world promoting his musical talent. His new single is his testimony of what is to come in his life and understanding the importance of having faith in a higher power. Modern artists thank God in their acceptance speeches, but very few are adding the presence of God in the songs that help them win awards. Jmal The Scholar has decided to put this record out not to compete with what's currently playing on urban radios, but to spread a message that was embedded in him one night while riding through the streets of Detroit.
