The 2013 Backpacks 4 Class School Collection Drive is Taking Place at Arlington Heights Ford

July 10, 2013 - PRLog -- In conjunction with Backpacks 4 Class and Caduceus Education Foundation, Arlington Heights Ford (http://www.ahford.com/section/secondary/about-us/Arlington-Heights-IL-Ford-Dealer) is hosting the 2013 Backpacks 4 Class School Collection Drive. The purpose of the drive, which runs from July 10 to August 15, is to gather donations of essential school supplies for the benefit of children in need and schools that are feeling the pinch of recent budget cuts.

The folks at Arlington Heights Ford, located at 801 W. Dundee Road in Arlington Heights, encourage everyone to show their support for Chicagoland schools and young students by stopping by their dealership anytime during the next four weeks to drop off unopened school supplies. Items that are needed include:

boxes of pens and #2 pencils
packages of lined paper, plain paper, and copy paper
24-packs of crayons
kleenex, paper towels, handy wipes
wide rule composition books
pocket folders
highlighters
glue sticks
and, of course, school backpacks

Every Saturday during the drive, Arlington Heights Ford will be serving free snacks and beverages, including ice cream on July 13, and hot dogs on July 20.

The School Collection Drive is an important part of the Backpacks 4 Class goal of collecting 350-plus backpacks filled with all the school supplies a young student needs. Backpacks 4 Class is a non-profit organization that works with schools throughout the Chicagoland area to provide much needed materials to ensure that every child is prepared for a successful school year.

Recently branching out to the St. Louis area, and many other cities in the Midwest, Backpacks 4 Class has partnered with Caduceus Education Foundation, and has reached out to local businesses to help sponsor events such as the School Collection Drive at Arlington Heights Ford.

Backpacks 4 Class is a great idea, a noble enterprise, and a worthy cause. This very basic, grassroots-level support of education gives a terrific boost to schools and children in need, which in turn will benefit individual communities, and ultimately the country at-large.
