Local Champion To Be Honored At The Boca Festival Days

BOCA RATON, Fla. - July 1, 2013 - PRLog -- What do you get when you combine the American Association of Caregiving Youth (AACY) with Allegiance Home Health and Rehab companies?  You get an incredible synergistic partnership for the Boca Raton Chamber’s Boca Festival Days.

Elected officials, business, healthcare, education and religious leaders will join together in a fast-moving, early morning program designed to celebrate the opening of school in Palm Beach County, one of the featured events of Boca Festival Days and the one community constituents won’t want to miss!

The program will be highlighted by a special award to Jan Savarick. As president of Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation, Ms. Savarick has played an integral role in the success of the Foundation and the Hospital since she joined the organization in 2001. She oversees all fundraising activities, including capital, annual and planned giving campaigns, corporate giving, donor relations, community awareness, major gifts and special events. She is a key member of the Hospital administrative team, helping to drive the organization’s policies and future direction.  

In addition to her role at the Hospital, Jan has been extremely active in the community, and has played a significant role on a number of not-for-profit boards and committees including the School of Social Work at Florida Atlantic University, Hillel of Broward & Palm Beach, and an Honorary Council Member and Past President of Donna Klein Jewish Academy. Jan was named one of South Florida’s most Influential Business Women of 2012 and a 2013 Palm Beach County Ultimate CEO by the South Florida Business Journal.

Jan is recognized as a tireless advocate for partnerships that provide opportunities for students, especially related to their healthcare and has championed the needs of students who also are family caregivers.

WHY:   Proceeds of the breakfast will benefit the Caregiving Youth Project, a program of AACY that offers services to middle and high school children who care for family members who are ill, injured, elderly or disabled.

Allegiance Home Health and Rehab is a Medicare certified, award-winning home health agency.  It provides Nursing, Physical, Speech and Occupational Therapy as well as Social Services.  It also specializes in Private Duty and Companion Services to assist with daily living activities including grocery shopping and transportation. Allegiance has been named HomeCare Elite and Top 500 Agency since it's eligibility in 2009.  Established in 2005, Allegiance serves clients from Boca Raton to Sebastian as it works to help those in their care 24/7 regain and maintain their independence at home.  Rosie Inguanzo-Martin is the President and CEO and has been nominated woman of the year.  

The American Association of Caregiving Youth (AACY) is a Florida based 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation that began serving the greater Boca Raton community in 1998. Today AACY is the only organization of its kind in the United States for addressing the issues surrounding the silent, vulnerable and hidden population, conservatively estimated to exceed 1.4 million children, who provide care for ill, injured, elderly or disabled family members.  Its mission is to recognize, support, and promote the awareness of these youth that are both students and family caregivers. AACY’s model program, the Caregiving Youth Project (CYP), works in partnership with the School District of Palm Beach County.  Dr. Connie Siskowski, the organization’s founder was a 2012 CNN Top Ten Hero.
