American Association of Caregiving Youth Announces $2,500 Donation from AvalonBay Communities Inc

BOCA RATON, Fla. - May 8, 2020 - PRLog -- The American Association of Caregiving Youth® (AACY) today announced that it has received a $2,500 donation from AvalonBay Communities Inc. to further its core value of A Spirit of Caring affiliate network development.

AACY works to address the multitude of unrecognized issues of youth caregivers. Youth caregivers, under the age of 18 years, sacrifice their education, health, well-being and childhood to provide care for family members who are ill, injured, elderly or disabled.
"We appreciate the support of AvalonBay Communities, with its recognition to expand the work of AACY, on behalf of this otherwise hidden population of children who are in health related family circumstances through no fault of their own," said Dr. Connie Siskowski, President and Founder of AACY.

AACY searches out nonprofit and collaborative partners in the areas of Healthcare, Education and the Community to further facilitate direct and indirect services to youth caregivers while strengthening the family.

They deepened their commitment in 2015, and launched their Building Strong Communities philanthropy program and community engagement strategy, which focuses on community preparedness and disaster relief, affordable housing, and support for at risk populations.
