Family Promise of White County and Sociercise to Host Virtual Run in Support of Homeless Families

CLEVELAND, Ga. - June 27, 2013 - PRLog -- On July 18th a five day period will begin where runners from across North Georgia and around the world will unite together to support Family Promise of White County in a virtual charity race hosted by Sociercise.  This unique fundraising event allows runners and walkers of all skill levels to join the race and collect pledges for each mile that they complete during the five day racing period July 18th - 22nd.  

During the event participants can run anywhere they choose, whenever they choose and as often as they wish to log miles using the Sociercise App for iPhone.  When the racing period is over the pledges and the mileage will be calculated and Family Promise of White County will receive the donations to support their mission of helping homeless families in White County, GA.  

Family Promise of White County hosts several families that are in need of shelter, food, and comfort.  The organization recently opened a day center with a full time director to work with these families and support them until they graduate from the program.  Shelter and meals are provided nightly to these families thanks to the open arms of various congregations within the community.  

There are two ways that people can be involved in supporting these special families.  Individuals interested in participating in this event as a race participant can visit the racing dashboard for Family Promise on the Sociercise website to register (http://www.sociercise.com/charity-racing-dashboard/?race_id=11321).  People that wish to donate to these families can choose a runner from that same page to support or send donations directly to Family Promise of White County.
