Bill Redfern Places Second In 2013 Mack Cycle International Triathlon

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. - June 25, 2013 - PRLog -- Bill Redfern of A Buyer's Choice (http://abuyerschoice.org/), recently placed second in his age category in the first round of the 2013 Mack Cycle International Triathlon on June 9, 2013.

Redfern finished with a total time of 1:52:33:22, which was the 17th best overall. He completed the swimming portion in 0:10:17, the bike ride in 0:49:23 and the run in 0:50:57. Combined, these were an improvement over his previous race time of two hours and 11 minutes.

The 2013 Mack Cycle International Triathlon's course was a half mile swim in the Atlantic Ocean, a 20 mile bike ride through Virginia Key Historic Park and a 6 mile run along the Atlantic Coast. The event was the first of four triathlons taking place in Key Biscayne. The next triathlons will take place on July 21, August 18 and September 15, 2013.

I felt great throughout the entire race and although I only missed first place in my category by two minutes, I'm happy with my performance. Triathlons aren't the only races that Bill Redfern (http://abuyerschoice.info/) enjoys. He frequently competes in marathons and recently completed the Singer Island Half Marathon. Redfern ran 13.1 miles in 1:55, which meant he was in among the top finishers in his age group and in the top 25 percent of overall finishers.

Although running marathons and competing in triathlons are important to Redfern, he is also quite active in his community. He participates in the IWK Health Centre's Walk the Walk for Autism and in 2012, his team was one of the top fundraisers for the charity event. The 2013 Walk is scheduled for June 15 and Redfern's goal is to raise even more money than he did in 2012.

"Staying active is important to me, whether it's through running a marathon, competing in a triathlon or raising money for the IWK Health Centre. The Health Centre performs vital research in the field of autism studies and I'm thrilled to play a small part in that research," said Redfern.
