Risk modeling for inland marine underwriters: flood, earthquake, wind, and more new imua webinar

MONTVILLE, N.J. - June 24, 2013 - PRLog -- The Inland marine Underwriters Association (IMUA) announced that Risk Modeling for Inland Marine Underwriters: Flood, Earthquake, Wind, and More will be the topic covered by its next webinar scheduled for Thursday, June 27, 2013 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. EDT.

According to IMUA, among the questions to be answered are:

*Are these perils predictable in any given area of the US?
*How can statistics provide/knowledge to allow us to model risk, and provide loss control techniques to mitigate damages?
*How important is granularity to risk assessment?
*Are the results measurable?

The Risk Modeling for Inland Marine Underwriters webinar will be presented by Thomas C. Jeffrey, Ph.D., Sr. Principal Scientist, CoreLogic Spatial Solutions. Dr. Jeffrey is the lead scientist on development of various CoreLogic hazard risk datasets, including coastal storm surge risk, wildfire risk, and earthquake risk. He works with many of the top 100 U.S. insurance companies to help implement hazard risk models in automated underwriting systems.
