University of Oxford launches new website for its Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Division
Creative and digital marketing agency Obergine has created a new website for the Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences (MPLS) Division of the University of Oxford.
“The task we set Obergine - to re-design and re-engage people with our website - was a big one. But we couldn't be happier with the new look and Obergine have been great to work with,” said Annabel Cook, Science Communications Officer at the MPLS Division, University of Oxford.
Factoring the rise of usage with mobile smart phones and tablets - particularly in the world of modern education - it was essential that the website was implemented responsively. The benefit of this approach was that the layout of the website automatically detected the type of device being used and adjusted itself to mobile phones, tablets and desktop computer screen resolution to make sure the content is widely accessible and easy to browse.
The website provides information on courses, research, outreach activities and facts about the Division. Prospective and current students can learn about the degree programmes on offer, and there are resources for research and teaching staff.
Fully integrated social media channels, such as Twitter and news feeds, give visitors up-to-date information and make sharing information simpler.
The Mathematical, Physical and Life Science Division is the University of Oxford’s hub of natural and physical sciences, and its research is highly recognised worldwide. It is one of the University of Oxford’s four main academic divisions and houses 10 departments and 3 interdisciplinary units. More than 30% of students at the University of Oxford study mathematics, physics or life sciences subjects.
