June 14, 2013 - PRLog -- Father’s Day is happening this weekend on Sunday, June 16. The temperate weather in the Midwest afforded by the changing of seasons this time of year is capitalized upon fully by the city of Chicago, where one can find a plethora of fun and relaxing activities indoors and out.

The many wonderful parks in Chicago (http://www.conciergepreferred.com/chicago-zoos-a-parks.html) are great examples of what the city has to offer on this day of dads. A relaxing walk or invigorating jog can be a wonderful time and both offer no shortage of opportunities for conversation and sightseeing. Similarly, the parks of the city are exceptional venues for dining and a lunch or dinner picnic in one of them can dazzle dad with a one-two punch of beautiful atmosphere and delicious food, if one takes the time grab some of the world-class cuisine that can be found around the city.

For those who would rather eat inside, many of the Chicago’s best restaurants are holding special Father’s Day events to honor dads. Since the holiday is on a Sunday, one dining option that is sure to be popular is Father's Day Brunch (http://www.conciergepreferred.com/chicago-restaurants/521...).

Also to be found in the city are a variety of golf courses. There is a classic American image of the dad as a gentleman golfer, and fathers who fit with that image will find more than a few fantastic greens to tee off on in Chicago (http://www.conciergepreferred.com/chicago-sports/4590-bes...) this Sunday.

Finally, if grabbing a beer and watching a game sounds like the perfect way to celebrate Father’s Day, Chicago will not disappoint here either. Though the White Sox and Cubs, sadly, will both be playing away on Sunday, the city has some fantastic sports bars (http://www.conciergepreferred.com/chicago-nightlife/4-top...) well equipped for catching all the action and even better equipped to pour a frosty cold one for dad. If celebrating a day early or late is an option, heading to one of these locales for the Stanly Cup Playoffs, two games of which will occur the day before and after Father’s Day, will likely be an event to remember.
