Cherrytree - Interscope Recording Artist Colette Carr Release of Debut Album The SKITSZO Collection

MALIBU, Calif. - June 13, 2013 - PRLog -- American singer-rapper Colette Carr, will be releasing her completed debut album The Skitszo Collection, July 9th on Cherrytree - Interscope Records.

Over the course of the past nine months, the Skitszo Collection, (Carr's debut album) has been received with curiosity, amazement, and anticipation by both the music industry and her fans.
Primarily due to the unconventional method and pioneering new way to release music from this pioneering new Cherrytree artist.

The reasoning behind this release approach is that Colette is so improvisational and in-the-moment that Cherrytree made her music available for purchase digitally in four EP installments, to match the delivery method to her audience with her spirit and flow, making Colette's music available to her fans as fast as she recorded it.

The rave reviewed Skitszo Collection is in it's entirety a combinative of all previously released digital EP installments, culminating in a 5th (the CD of the full album plus 4 new songs).

The first single of the album, "(We Do It) Primo", was released on May 11, 2011. The song was number one on Billboard's "Uncharted Chart." The single, "SEX (feat, New Boyz)" was released December 13, 2012 and peaked at number 104 on the "US iTunes Pop Chart."The third single, "Like I Got A Gun", was released on June 6, 2012. The fourth single “F-16” was released on November 13, 2012 as a part of Skitszo, Part 1. The music video was released on December 11, 2012. Skitszo Part 1 peaked at number 12 on EQ Music's "Top Albums of 2012" chart. The fifth single "Why Are You Leaving" was released January 8, 2013 and music video, released on January 24, 2013.

Carr's video for the single "Never Gonna Happen" was also debuted by Billboard, the world's most influential music media brand reaching key executives and tastemakers in and around the music business, as well as millions of music fans in North America, Greece, Japan, Korea and Russia.

The Skitszo Collection is a tribute to Carr's uncle, who was schizophrenic. "“It’s also a tribute to my uncle who suffered from schizophrenia, but more than that it’s a tribute to the man who showed me what true and pure creativity was before he passed away two years ago," said Carr. She described the style of the album as, "musically schizophrenic." Her uncle also inspired the video for Carr's previous single, "Back It Up."

Already receiving many positive reviews from music critics, SKITSZO, is surely to be one of the hottest music releases of the summer.
