Online Advertising Jacksonville’s Expert Rusty Winter Appears On Local Radio Show

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - June 11, 2013 - PRLog -- Last Saturday SEO Expert and Online Advertising Specialist Rusty Winter appeared on The Marketing Advisors Show to discuss SEO (Search Engine Optimization) for small and medium sized businesses in Jacksonville. Rusty began by outlining the 3 main things you need to do before making any changes to your website or link building program, including:

Identifying your customer segments. Ask yourself who your best potential customers are and create a profile of each different sub-target.
Determine the paths they take to starting their search.  What motivates them to start the search in the first place?
Establish goals. What does success look like? Do you need potential customers to call you, fill out a form, or purchase something directly from the site perhaps?

Starting an SEO program without having these things planned out is futile

He then moved on to the two main controllable (some more than others) factors that go into any SEO program.

The first: On-Site factors. These make up the structure of your site and the additions and/or changes you make to the content of your site. The main SEO factors here include:
• Keyword Research and Keyword Strategy- If this is wrong than all your SEO efforts after this step are flawed and probably won’t work.
• Page Tags
• Keyword-Rich, Fresh, and Exclusive Content
• Other structural factors of the site.

The other (although less so) controllable factor in SEO- Off-Site factors. These include things that effect your site, but aren’t actually on your site like:

• Social Media’s Role
