10 Essential Summer 2013 EDM Tours

May 28, 2013 - PRLog -- EDM is a genre that has really taken off here in America over the past few years. The music has seeped into everything mainstream, from car commercials to movie trailers (and even movies taking place in the 1920s like The Great Gatsby), and there is no escaping it.

The mass appeal of this music, in my opinion, is that you can get lost in it. It envelops your whole being and you can just become a part of it. There is a transe-like quality about the beats, the synths, even the strong, pulsating WAH WAHs of dubstep that can take you from wherever you are and to another place entirely. I've gotten caught up in the feeling before, and I don't even particularly like the genre that much. There's something about it that can just leave you in a different state.

EDM live takes it to a whole new level. When you congregate with thousands of others upon a festival or live set, the experiential nature of the music must be completely overwhelming. I can't fathom what it would be like to get lost with so many people that are so deeply invested in what's happening on stage.
