The Author Dave Haq is the founder of and lead instructor for Anvil Guitar Instruction. He began playing music at the age of 14 and studied with several private instructors before graduating from high school. Dave has found that studying with many teachers has given him a unique perspective on the essentials of an effective private music instructor. Throughout high school and college Dave played with musicians that focused on a wide range of musical styles, this significantly broadened his musical prowess.

After Classical Music training at UCSB Dave elected to graduate with a degree in Communication and Philosophy. He officially founded Anvil Guitar Instruction in 2003 and soon decided to pursue a formal education in music. Dave enrolled in the G.I.T. Degree program at Musicians Institute in the fall of 2004. M.I. is the world’s premier school of contemporary music performance and recording. The training he received there is immeasurable. He honed his technique and gleaned inspiration from some of the greatest players in the world. Dave also gained experience writing and performing with his band Springtime Is Wartime. They created a blend of hard rock with funk grooves and odd time signatures. They have released three albums (www.myspace.com/springtimeiswartime) Dave has also led and participated in many worship and praise bands at several churches in the Santa Barbara Area.
