Harman’s Next-Generation Infotainment System will be Featured in the 2014 S-Class and C-Class

The Harman NTG5 infotainment system is designed to simplify and enrich the user experience. Integrating advanced wireless connectivity with a newly enhanced navigation system, the Harman NTG5 networks front and rear high-definition display screens, allowing passengers to enjoy their own personal entertainment while enabling them to share video, images, or text with other passengers.
This innovative multi-seat infotainment setup offers a wide array of entertainment, navigation, and connectivity features, the likes of which have never been available before. The exclusive new features include:
A front dash display featuring a split-screen mode, which allows both the driver and front seat passenger to view different content on the same display screen.
A Driveshow navigation feature with which passengers can keep track of the route they are taking and view points of interest as they travel.
The system provides a WLAN hotspot and a dedicated media interface for Android and iOS devices.
Message Access Profile (MAP) enabled for email and SMS with an animated 3D human-machine interface (HMI).
Useful features such as roadside assistance, emergency notification, and vehicle status data are provided as well.
All messages are enabled to be read out to the driver in a choice of 18 different languages.
