Unmanned Vehicle University Partners with Cape Cod Community College

PHOENIX - May 21, 2013 - PRLog -- Unmanned Vehicle University (UVU) in partnership with Cape Cod Community College (CCCC) is teaching a 3 Day small UAV Design and Operations course at Cape Cod Community Community College, Hyannis Center, 540 Main St, Hyannis, MA 508-375-5011 from May 21-23, 2013. The course is designed to give participants hands-on experience in UAS systems integration and testing procedures. The balance of classroom instruction coupled with practical applications provides an understanding of the many interdependent subsystems in a small unmanned aircraft system. After completing the course the student will be able to:

1. Understand UAS subsystem design
2. Perform UAS system level tradeoffs
3. Identify small UAV construction methods and materials
4. Select appropriate propulsion systems for small UAS
5. Integrate and test a small UAS autopilot and related sensors
6. Be familiar with and operate small UAS mission planning and control software
7. Identify small UAS payloads and integration considerations
8. Understand and integrate small UAS data links
9. Set up a Hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) simulation test
10. Make decisions relating to UAS subsystem design criteria for typical small UAS.

UVU will also teach a 3 day UAV Fundamentals course at CCCC on June 11-13.
