Follow on Google News | British Website Launches Petition for New Bank HolidayA UK based website has identified a lack of Autumn bank holiday's in the English work calendar. In an attempt to rectify this, they have launched a petition designed to get those in power to take notice!
By: BankHolidays2013.co.uk The petition, still in its early stages, currently has 286 signatures, although this is growing on a daily basis. The website owners have state; "We have created a petition for a new bank holiday. We propose that this day should fall on the first Monday of October, and should be dedicated to celebrating all that is Great about Britain. There is currently no official Autumn Bank Holiday. As well as being a day to celebrate Great Britain, this day could act as the official Autumn Bank Holiday, giving the public a morale boost as the days become shorter and the temperature begins to cool." With increasing weather related woes felt by the British public, as summers seem to grow increasingly colder, this bank holiday could be just what the public need. As well as this petition, the Bank Holiday 2013 website acts as a travel resource, for those wanting to use their long weekends for something other than decorating the house or weeding the garden. With travel advice and offers, as well as email reminders for upcoming bank holidays, the owners of BankHolidays2013.co.uk have attempted to create the ultimate UK public holiday hub.
