Digital Getdown with Free the Robots, Joakim, and ChannelOne

May 17, 2013 - PRLog -- B. Fresh (http://iwannabfresh.com/) is an independent concert producer that is bringing a one-night mini festival to LA’s best local and nontraditional venues. Their events will bring together dope music, innovative art, cool lighting and design, and great food for one-night events, all at an affordable price. They have a really special night set for their first downtown event next month called Digital Getdown (https://www.facebook.com/events/372462056199438/). The show will feature DJ sets by underground hip hop producer Chris Alfaro, alias Free the Robots (http://freetherobots.org/), French dance producer Joakim (https://soundcloud.com/joakimbouaziz), and local up and comer Channel One (https://soundcloud.com/channelone-la). Free the Robots’ sets vibe a mixture of beats, jazz, electronic and hip-hop leading him to share the stage with amazing artists like Flying Lotus and Afrika Bambaataa. Joakim, founder of Tigersushi records, gets down with electronic dance sets, like he did with his set at LA’s A Club Called Rhonda night in 2012.  All three DJs are sure to bust open the dance floor with their progressive mixes and great beats.  Free the Robots has even released an exclusive mix (https://soundcloud.com/iwannabfresh/b-fresh-radio-free-th...) for the event available only on B. Fresh Radio.

The event will also showcase art and installations from awesome local LA artists like Strangeloop (http://www.strangelooptv.com/) and Teaching Machine (http://teachingmachine.tv/s/), Jordan Rosenheck (http://jmrt.tumblr.com/), Braden Graeber (http://www.twitter.com/hipstermermaid), and Kaleb Higgins among others. Strangeloop, famously of the Brainfeeder collective, recently released a short film titled “Anamnesia” which was received with critical acclaim. Braden Graeber while an amazing designer and innovator has recently become better known for his hipster quips from his Twitter persona, @Hipstermermaid. Kaleb Higgins of the Think Tank collective is known for his stencils and artwork, as well as for producing innovative installations for huge events such as the JazzReggae Festival.

Digital Getdown will be taking place at a secret location in downtown LA on Saturday, June 29th. A limited number of Early Bird tickets will be on sale for $15 followed by a limited number of Special Sale tickets for $18. After that tickets will go up to $20. If you’re afraid of breaking the wallet with this 21+ event, don’t worry because there’s an open bar and plenty of free street parking around the venue. Don’t forget to swag up and leave the kids at home- it’s time to party.
