The programme, which starts in September, is for students holding the CII Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning or the CISI Masters Programme in Wealth Management.
Both the CII and CISI have reported a growth in demand for higher wealth management qualifications. The demand stems in part from the Retail Distribution Review, which requires financial advisers to have relevant accredited qualifications. Despite the increasing appetite for wealth management training, there are few universities offering courses to professionals who want to continue learning beyond the level of the CII and CISI programmes Explaining the decision to launch the course, Professor Andrew Clare, Associate Dean of Cass' MSc Programme, said: "Higher education institutions have been slow to respond to the growing student and industry demand for specialist wealth management training. This course aims to take experienced professionals to the next level in their learning and careers." The programme aims to expand participants' financial knowledge as well as developing their leadership and relationship management skills. In an industry driven by networking, professionals will also benefit from joining Cass's 36,000 strong alumni community. With a mix of practical and academic expertise, Cass has one of the country's most highly respected wealth management faculties. All successful applicants for 2013/14 will be entitled to a 10% introductory discount on the normal tuition fees. An online information session is taking place on Tuesday 4 June at 1pm where prospective students can meet the team without leaving their desk. To view the session, register here.
