A Coloring Book for New Parents

BURLINGTON, Vt. - May 14, 2013 - PRLog -- From teething and ear infections to unsolicited breastfeeding advice, being the parent of a newborn is hardly a barrel of laughs. But humorist and illustrator Ella Bop aims to put a smile on the face of even the weariest new parent with the launch of her new book: A Coloring Book for New Parents.

“Dealing with a newborn is sometimes so exhausting that the only thing you can do is laugh,” said Bop. “This book aims to inject a little humor into what are otherwise awkward and exasperating situations for new parents.” The book features drawings of scenarios every new parent is sure to face, from the joys of your child’s first poopy on the potty, to the perils of taking a cranky newborn on an airplane. The illustrations are cute enough to grace the pages of a preschooler’s coloring book, but the grown-up subject matter is clearly aimed at adults. Bop’s tongue is placed firmly in her cheek as she reflects on the highs and lows of life as a new parent.

Outside the Lines Press is a family run business founded specifically to publish Bop’s quirky coloring books.  “I am extremely proud to self-publish my books with the generous support of my closest friends and family,” said Bop. “My mom hasn’t been this excited to see my drawings since I was in kindergarten.”
