Catch Up on the Latest at The State: May 13 - 19 edition

The State Theatre continues its action-packed May programming schedule with a variety of musical, film, and local acts that are great for families looking for affordable ways to spend time together. We’ve recapped each one for you below.
 
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - May 13, 2013 - PRLog -- Friday, May 17 at 8:00 p.m., State College Community Theatre presents Born Yesterday, a comedy theatre performance by Garson Kanin, following one man’s journey through Washington D.C. as he attempts to juggle politics and his love life. Performances will also take place Saturday, May 18 at 2:00 p.m. and again at 8:00 p.m. You can catch Born Yesterday the following weekend with performances on Friday, May 24 at 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 25 at 2:00 p.m. and again at 8:00 p.m.

Saturday, May 18 at 7:00 p.m., Bring out the whole family for a night of fun and adventure at the State Theatre. Singing Onstage Productions presents The Little Mermaid JR. Heidi Biever directs this adaptation of the 2008 Broadway production that follows a young mermaid in her quest to leave the ocean. Additional performances will also take place Sunday, May 19 at 3:00 p.m. and again at 7:00 p.m.

Sunday, May 19 at 2:00 p.m., Come out to the State Theatre for a “Greats at the State” screening of the romantic comedy film The Philadelphia Story starring James Stewart, winner of a Best Actor Oscar, and the timeless Katherine Hepburn. This romantic comedy follows a Philadelphia socialite’s journey of self-discovery.
