PHILADELPHIA - May 9, 2013 - PRLog -- On Sunday, June 2, 2013 at 2:00pm, MM2 Modern Dance Company will present a free preview of its newest work, THREE, as part of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts’ (PAFA) Family Arts Academy workshop. A collection of dances, short stories if you will, all less than three minutes as choreographed by each of the company members. The performance will take place in PAFA’s museum galleries, and will be followed by an art lesson inspired by the theme of THREE. Both the performance and workshop are FREE for all ages.

This sneak preview of new work by MM2 Dance is being offered before the company begins its tour in Italy during this summer. The structure of MM2 Modern Dance Company is unique in that there is no single choreographer; rather, each dancer is charged with setting work on their fellow company members. THREE poses the challenge of fulfilling a concise vision by creating a carefully orchestrated piece in a brief and fixed amount of time.

MM2 Modern Dance Company continues to expand its programming as an incubator, providing support, space and opportunities for new emerging dance artists who wish to explore the choreographic process, while cultivating and introducing new works to new audiences.

This season’s dancers/choreographers for THREE are: Jessica Bryan, Katelyn Capato, Jenna Faye Eugenides, Heather Fleischman, Angela Frezzo, Kaylee Goodwin, Jennifer Laucella, Brianne Scott and Matthew Varvar.

PAFA’s Family Programs offer families enriching, creative experiences in PAFA's historical galleries and art studios, while strengthening initiatives in family development and art education. During Family Arts Academy workshops, families have an opportunity to create and learn about art, learn new skills, and make new friends.  For more information about PAFA’s Family Programs, visit http://www.pafa.org/museum/Education/Families/787/.
