![]() Tibetan Cultural Arts Return to the PiedmontTibetan Cultural Arts Return to the Piedmont Area of North Carolina.
By: Sacred Arts Tour The monks will be sharing their cultural traditions of Tibet, including the creation of a sand mandala at the SaxArt Gallery located on Jordan Street in Saxapahaw. Admission is free to all visitors to the gallery and donations are welcome. All visitors are welcome to come and witness the great skill and concentration of these remarkable monks, as they create a memorable artwork in sand that will be deconstructed on June 16th, 2013. This event has been made possible through the sponsorship of the SaxArt Gallery, located at 1616 Jordan Street in Saxapahaw. The location is ideal for visitors, it is handicapped accessible and the deconstruction ceremony scheduled for June 16th at 2pm, at the Haw River that is steps away from the gallery. Visitors of all ages are invited to join the monks as they create this peace offering to the community of Saxapahaw, North Carolina, beginning June 12th to June 16th. In addition to watching the monks create this temporary work of art, the public is welcome to come at 10 am to listen to the morning prayers or in the late afternoon to hear evening prayers chanted by the monks.
