ENCINITAS, Calif. - May 6, 2013 - PRLog -- Contemporary, now three-time award-winning novelist Edward Cozza of San Diego and Encinitas region, California, received word today that his debut novel Nowhere Yet tied for top honors for the “Best Regional Fiction – West-Pacific” category in the 17th annual Independent Publisher Book Awards (IPPYs), beating out the Silver and Bronze categories for the region. Almost 2500 independent authors and publishers participated in the 2013 awards contest.

Edward Cozza and a guest will be attending the IPPY awards ceremony Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at a New York location to be announced. The ceremony will be held immediately prior to Book Expo America (http://www.bookexpoamerica.com/Home/?campaignid=61753165&iusercampaignid=76019052) in New York City, a festival that attracts nearly 100,000 visitors from around the world.

From independentpublisher.com: “The ‘IPPY’ Awards, launched in 1996, are designed to bring increased recognition to the deserving but often unsung titles published by independent authors and publishers. Established as the first awards program open exclusively to independents, over 3,000 IPPYs have been awarded to authors and publishers around the world.

“Independent publishers are growing in number, and the quality of their work is increasing,” said awards director Jim Barnes. …”Their elevated level of writing, editing, design and production raises the bar and inspires us all.”

Book summary:

Meet Grant, Rex, Annie and Kat – four forty-something friends who are coaxed out to the Palm Springs, California, by their long lost friend, the cantankerous Rex. Nowhere Yet is the dialog-driven story that highlights Rex’s wry humor and snarky comebacks that barely conceal his own chewy center. They all wonder if their best is behind them, and they meet at the Rancho Mirage Ritz-Carlton resort to mend emotional fences, fan old flames, find the bartender of their dreams, and discover that the best may actually lie ahead for them after all.

Other awards:

Nowhere Yet also won the "Book Cover Design – Fiction” and “Finalist – Fiction” categories in the 2013 Beverly Hills Book Awards (http://www.beverlyhillsbookawards.com/2013-BHBA-Winnners-...) in March 2013.
