Project Manager: Avoiding Projects Pitfalls

When closing projects, PMs may find it funny that they still fail sometimes; these failures are called project pitfalls and they can be evaded by these seven simple steps.

LA HABRA, Calif. - May 6, 2013 - PRLog -- La Habra, CA, May 2013 /ProjectManager/ -- It’s been a common agony of project managers to end a project and realize that no one is around to stand by his side in case the project they did was not made as planned by the client. ProjectManagerLtd’s Director, Jennifer Whitt – Bridges found a way to get rid of these pitfalls and get the project right and the team standing on the PM’s side; until the end.

“Number one. Make sure you have all of your inputs. Again, in all of the phases of the project, you have to make sure you get the proper inputs for that phase. This one, it’s critical to have everything you need to actually close it out before people start leaving the project. As soon as you get to the end of the executing and controlling phases, members start checking out and going to the next project. So begin getting in the last documents coming in to the closing phase.” Bridges Said

“Number two. Critical to get the user acceptance and all approvals. If you put energy on, keep people engaged in collaborating about user acceptance testing and the approval phase, people will stay engaged with you and make sure you get all of the approvals and testing you need before everyone leaves.” She added.

The whiteboard session video, titled “Avoiding Projects Pitfalls” has been published end of August, 2012 and has been watched by thousands of project managers online. This video has been shared more than 900 times by different PMs, working on different fields of proposals.
