Follow on Google News | BitTorrent Sync Application Goes Public – No Cloud RequiredBitTorrent Inc. has released its file syncing software today that enables the users to share and sync files between computers without involving cloud.
By: Cloud Reviews BitTorrent Inc. released its pre-alpha version earlier this year with limited number of specific users but today they made it public. BitTorrent announces on its release: “We’re really excited about opening up this Alpha. The feedback has been universally positive. Those in the closed Alpha have already synced more than 200TB since we started the program.” There are many data storage providers available in the market including Dropbox, SkyDrive, Google Drive, etc. that works on the cloud system for data storage with specified limits. However, BitTorrent Sync application requires no cloud (means there is no involvement or access to your data by the third party) and it offers a secure and quick sharing of files between multiple users. And yes, it is with no limits and it’s completely free. Although BitTorrent Sync application is in its alpha development stage, yet it is working perfectly. Due to the lack of involvement of cloud or any other third party, the syncing process carries out in a much faster speed depending on your network speed. Users can sync files between multiple computers in a quick and secure manner without any storage size limits. This sync application uses the same technology as BitTorrent for the enhanced security of the shared files. A private key is required to access the files in a folder that refrains outsiders from viewing the folder contents. BitTorrent Inc. explains: “All the traffic is encrypted using a private key derived from the shared secret. Your files can be viewed and received only by the people with whom you share your private secret.” http://www.cloudreviews.com/ End
