Live advanced endoscopy study day

April 26, 2013 - PRLog -- University College Hospital London NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) is hosting its third ‘hands-on’ gastrointestinal endoscopy study day on Thursday July 4th, focussing this time on upper GI, as well as exploring the effective use of PENTAX Medical’s HD+ and i-scan imaging system.

The first two events proved very successful with Consultant Endoscopists from around the UK commenting that the chance to watch live procedures and talk to experts in the field of gastroenterology at UCLH was extremely useful. This latest study day is entitled: “Endoscopic diagnosis of early neoplasia in the Oesophagus” and will feature live endoscopy cases with a focus on:

·         Enhanced optical imaging techniques for lesion recognition

·         Mucosal classification systems for early neoplasia

·         Chromoendoscopy

·         Radiofrequency ablation

·         Endoscopic mucosal resection

The faculty for the study day includes Dr Rehan Haidry, Dr Matthew Banks, Dr Laurence Lovat and Professor Krish Ragunath (Nottingham), and the session runs from 9am until 5pm at University College Hospital, London.

The experts will be leading four live cases which attendees can view and discuss amongst fellow delegates in a small group environment. There will also be a presentation given by PENTAX Medical product specialist, providing a technical overview of the HD+ and i-scan imaging system which deliver live, clear 1.3 million pixel images and its virtual chromoendoscopy options, ideal for early cancer detection.
