Sportho Physical and Aquatic Therapy celebrates 30th anniversary!

CHICAGO - April 29, 2013 - PRLog -- On May 1, 2013, Sportho Physical and Aquatic Therapy will be celebrating its 30th year of serving the Chicagoland community. Sportho was founded in 1983 by Daniel J. O'Connor. Mr. O'Connor received his Physical Therapy degree from the University of Illinois-Chicago Medical Center. After graduating, Mr. O'Connor worked in an area hospital, but decided to go into practice for himself. After taking two initial loans from family members, Mr. O'Connor founded Sportho, in order to provide quality, one on one care to the people of Chicago. Sportho was so successful, that within the first year the loans had been repaid, and the business was operating at a profit.

In the last three decades, Sportho has expanded, offering additional facilities for rehabilitation, and a state of the art Aquatic Center. We have been able to utilize the various properties of water to allow for a more rapid return to previous functional level.  Sportho is one of only a few clinics in the state of Illinois to offer such a service.

         In the last 30 years, Sportho has treated over twelve thousand patients. Members of the Chicago Fire Department, Chicago Police, and thousands of other hardworking Chicago area residents have gotten back to work more quickly, and enjoyed longer and healthier lives. Sportho is privately owned, and the physical therapy treatment which patients receive here is not controlled by an off-site doctor; it is managed and dictated by an on-site, licensed physical therapist.

         Sportho has always held itself to the highest standards of care. We pride ourselves on making sure that our patients have every possible advantage in their recovery. Sportho Physical and Aquatic Therapy is extremely grateful for our loyal customers, and we hope to continue making the Chicago area stronger, happier, and healthier, for many decades still to come!
