Jim Vintner joins Marine Results to develop accident, repair and claims management

I am pleased to announce that I have been appointed by rigging and NDT specialists Marine Results as in-house surveyor, where I will be developing the accident, repair and claims management aspects of the business.

As you may know I was previously operations manager at Osmotech UK for twelve years, building a comprehensive understanding of boat construction methods, repair assessments and analysis.  With 25 years of marine industry experience, and twelve years of handling all manner of repairs, I am now well placed to give sound advice to all parties involved in a repair assessment or claim.

At Marine Results I will be joining the international team of riggers, surveyors and inspectors, focussing on insurance surveys and boat damage assessment.  I will operate primarily in the UK but will happily attend inspections in the Mediterranean, the US and the Caribbean. In the past couple of months I have been the overseeing surveyor for a 60ft yacht damaged by fire in southern Spain and a 38ft classic sailing ketch which suffered impact damage resulting in main mast damage. I am currently awaiting membership of YBDSA (Yacht Brokers, Designers and Surveyors Association).  I am also fully protected by PI insurance.

My experience also draws extensively from my earlier career of captain/engineer aboard prestige sailing yachts for a number of years.

Marine Results who specialise in providing rig work and inspection consultancy to the superyacht and racing yacht sector has seen a steady growth in the business of survey and inspection work.  The company has developed its rig inspection capabilities into a broader range of services and carries out damage surveys and inspections including NDT (non-destructive testing) for hull, deck, internal structures, keel and other structural inspections.
