MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - April 10, 2013 - PRLog -- West Virginia based production company Growth Media Services has spent the last year in development and production of an internet based sci-fi series called Shotgun Mythos.  And the hard work has paid off.  The show received the ITV Young Guns Award for Up and Coming New Shows at the DC Web Series Festival held April 6 at the Arlington Draft House.

β€œIt’s been a wild weekend!”  says show creator and director Clint Gaige.  We divided our cast between two big events.  Part of us were in Richmond, promoting the show at the sci-fi convention RavenCon, while another group went to the DC Web Series Festival to represent the show.  The award was a huge surprise!  We were considering the event a promotional opportunity.  It never occurred to us that we would come away an award winning series.”

Shotgun Mythos is a gritty show that blends sci-fi and crime noir in a world where the myths and legends are real, and a cold war that has spanned the centuries is about to explode.  Filmed in Martinsburg, WV, the show airs new episodes each Thursday on blip.tv/shotgunmythos, as well as on YouTube, WebSeriesChannel.com, I-tunes and Xbox Live.  More information about the show, cast and character biographies and news can be found on the website www.shotgunmythos.com.

As a result of the DC Web Series Festival, Shotgun Mythos has also been invited to screen the show and participate in a panel at FilmFest DC on April 14.  This week long event is in its 27th year, and draws films from around the world.  "It is a huge honor to be invited to FilmFest DC,"  says Darla Gaige, co-creator and producer of the show.  "All of the months of hard work are paying off, as we find fans for the show, and have the opportunity to attend these events."
