Lean Manufacturing Delivers Competitive Advantage

TOOWOOMBA, Australia - April 5, 2013 - PRLog -- South East Queensland company, PTE Hydraulics gained a 66% increase in manufacturing efficiency through using lean manufacturing tools at their Acacia Ridge factory.

PTE Hydraulics, which manufactures hydraulic cylinders for industrial applications, worked with QMI Solutions to undertake a number of Lean Manufacturing tools which reduced the average production time from six to two days per unit.

Peter Harrison of PTE Hydraulics said his company’s involvement with QMI Solutions had helped it weather the global economic crisis and record a 25% improvement in sales and growth.

According to Harrison the Lean Manufacturing processes that PTE Hydraulics undertook with QMI Solutions helped the company meet customers’ expectations for the on-time delivery of quality products and cost savings.

“We would be nowhere near as competitive as we are if we hadn’t done that,” said Peter Harrison.
