Rentokil Confirms Commitment to Quality With BASIS PROMPT Partnership

About 600 Rentokil Technicians and Field Biologists have signed up to the BASIS PROMPT professional register.

April 3, 2013 - PRLog -- About 600 Rentokil Technicians and Field Biologists have signed up to the BASIS PROMPT professional register.

All Technicians at the pest control giant are now on the BASIS scheme, which registers qualified pest controllers and encourages them to embrace Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Rob Simpson, Managing Director at BASIS PROMPT (http://www.basispestcontrol.co.uk/), welcomed the backing of one of the world leaders in pest control.

He said: “We’re really pleased that Rentokil has come on board in such a big way. Rentokil has always been committed to maximising the skill levels of its employees, and this is another example of that.

“The fact that all Rentokil Technicians and Field Biologists are being registered with BASIS PROMPT sends a clear message to the industry – the firms that offer expert advice and insist on operatives knowing the very latest techniques and regulations will be the ones to succeed whatever the economic climate.”

David Cross from Rentokil (http://www.rentokil.co.uk/) said: “Regulation and best practice in the industry is evolving continuously, and we’re committed to ensuring Rentokil employees are at the forefront of innovation.

“Our support of the BASIS PROMPT professional register reflects the time and investment we put into training to ensure we provide our customers with a high quality, professional service.”

To be eligible for BASIS PROMPT, pest control technicians need to have achieved the Level 2 Award in Pest Management or Pest Control.

Registration has to be renewed each year, so members will always be aware of the most up-to-date techniques, products and legislation.

To remain registered, technicians and managers have to gain 20 CPD points a year. Points can be gained through a variety of methods, including training, attending exhibitions, online quizzes and reading trade magazines.

Mr Simpson added: “It’s not just big companies that benefit from showing they have highly-skilled pest controllers. Householders want to use credible and professional companies, and so do businesses and local authorities.

“Showing that your operatives are well-qualified and that they are at the forefront of current knowledge wins orders, protects margins and improves the image of the industry as a whole.”

Mr Simpson made the comments ahead of PestEx 2013, which takes place on Wednesday, April 10 and Thursday, April 11 at ExCel in London. Pest Control companies and pest controllers are urged to visit BASIS PROMPT on stand 34a.

Notes to editors

The BASIS PROMPT Pest Controllers register is an industry initiative providing independent proof that a pest controller has received proper professional training and has continued to update their expertise through Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

By employing registered technicians, pest control companies can be sure their firm is delivering a professional, effective service.

Commercial customers, local authorities and the general public can be sure the pest controllers they use are capable of offering a truly professional service if they insist on using businesses whose managers and technicians are BASIS PROMPT-registered.

Experts from BASIS PROMPT are available for interview and happy to comment on relevant issues as part of wider features.
