Two Exciting Shows in April to end the Season at Freedom Hall

PARK FOREST, Ill. - April 2, 2013 - PRLog -- Billy Elton will perform on April 9 at 11:00am, for the last senior/matinee show of the season. Billy Elton delivers the high energy music of popular artists Elton John and Billy Joel. The audience will enjoy classics including; Don’t Go Breaking My Heart, Bennie and the Jets, Saturday Night, Piano Man, You May be Right, Only the Good Die Young, and many more.
Freedom Hall is excited to have pianist and vocalist, Reid Spears and his band liven up the stage and celebrate the music of Elton John and Billy Joel.

Julie Fowlis: Music of the Scottish Isles performs on Saturday, April 20 at 7:30. You might recognize Julie Fowlis from the Disney-Pixar film “Brave”, or you may have seen her featured on a few PBS specials. It is little wonder that when Disney-Pixar was searching for the perfect, authentic singing voice to feature for their movie “Brave”, research led them to one of the Western Isles’ true contemporary treasures – Julie Fowlis.

Julie Fowlis has received several awards over the years, including “Gaelic Singer of the Year”, “Album of the Year”, and “BBC Radio 2 Folk Singer of the Year”. She is most proud of her award as Scotland’s Gaelic Ambassador – “Tosgaire na Gàidhlig”, bestowed by the Scottish Parliament in 2008. Julie is the first person to ever receive this honor.

Julie Fowlis is regularly involved in television work, both as a presenter and an artist. She is currently on the BBC’s Alba TV. Singers and musicians from Ireland and Scotland gather in Glasgow for musical sessions to celebrate common bonds.
