New Student Learning Objectives Management Tool

SANDY, Utah - April 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Student Learning Objectives (SLOs) are critical to measuring student achievement growth as well as supporting and helping strengthen teachers’ instructional skills.  Community Training and Assistance Center’s (CTAC) in-depth SLO training and process within Truenorthlogic’s software portal creates a powerful, online SLO management tool for K-12 school districts and state education agencies.  

SLOs are carefully planned goals for what a student will learn over a given time period and can be written for both tested and non-tested subjects.  Teachers and administrators engage in a collaborative process that helps teachers analyze their practice and adjust instructional strategies to better meet student needs.  Then reviewing SLO outcomes can result in meaningful conversations reflecting on student successes and determining strategic improvements.  Each phase of the SLO model - preparation, development, implementation and analysis - is imbedded within the online portal providing easy access to evaluation and professional development data.

Delhi Unified School District (California) is currently piloting CTAC’s SLO management tool with plans to fully implement along with a new educator evaluation system managed by Truenorthlogic in the 2013-14 school year.
