LPGA Star Beatriz Recari Named Official Ambassador of The Alliance for Eating Disorders Awareness

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - March 20, 2013 - PRLog -- LPGA Tour player star Beatriz Recari has been named official ambassador for The Alliance for Eating Disorders Awareness, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping those who suffer from eating disorders by promoting a healthy lifestyle, positive body image, and boosting self-esteem.

The 25 year-old charismatic Spaniard, who is off to a hot start with two Top 5 finishes in the first three LPGA events of the season, aims to raise awareness by sharing her inspiring story of overcoming her eating disorder to find a healthy physical and mental balance in her life, paving the way for her to become a successful professional golfer.  She will host the first annual “Beatriz Recari and Friends Alliance Golf Classic” this fall in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., with all proceeds benefiting the foundation, and will also act as a motivational speaker at events and speaking engagements around the nation.

The naming of Recari as an ambassador for The Alliance comes on the tail end of National Eating Disorders Awareness Week (February 24-March 2), where communities all over the country hosted  fundraisers, awareness seminars, and informational sessions to help provide education and treatment for those who need it.

“This is a cause that really resonates with me, as I was able to overcome an eating disorder to find a healthy balance in my life and ultimately find success on the LPGA Tour,” Recari stated.  “I am proud to represent The Alliance and I hope that by sharing my story, I am able to have a positive impact on the lives of others.”
