LOS ANGELES - March 20, 2013 - PRLog -- Psychologist Dr. Francine Lederer and Rose Kesten Pondel, Esq. will host a series of Los Angeles based discussion group workshops on the topic of Embryo Disposition beginning on April 9th, 2013 and ending on April 23rd, 2013. Each workshop will take place on Tuesdays from 6:00 to 7:30 pm in Santa Monica, CA. From now until April 1st, individuals can purchase a single session or a package of all three workshops at a savings.

Where do the extra embryos go? That's a question Wired.com examined in a 2004 article. According to the piece, "Doctors at in vitro fertilization clinics typically create more embryos than they will use in helping about 50,000 American women try to get pregnant each year."

Dr. Lederer adds, "With fertility issues on the rise these past few years, I have been working extensively with women and couples dealing with conflict and ambiguity around pregnancy, infertility, family expansion and now embryo disposition. Embryo disposition in and of itself can be an emotionally confusing decision making process. Many couples may not even know their options."

And that's where the workshops come in. If you have undergone fertility treatments and have completed your family building journey, you may now be deciding the disposition of excess embryos. The Embryo Disposition workshops were created with the goal of providing a safe, open discussion group to ask questions about what to do with excess embryos and allow participants to get answers from two professionals in the field.

The group discussion topics will include: donating embryos to medical research, donating embryos to third parties for the purpose of contraception or disposing embryos in accordance with laboratory procedures.
