Fantasy with Scottish Folklore by German Author

March 11, 2013 - PRLog -- Right after Easter, on the 5th of April 2013, German author Katharina Gerlach will release her novel "Scotland’s Guardians" in print format. It will be available from amazon in two languages, German and English.

Since Bryanna grows up in Scotland, she is familiar with hobgoblins, selkies and kelpies from the tales of her mother country. But she is very surprised when she starts seeing these creatures one day. Is she hallucinating? Before she can ask her father's advice, he is kidnapped by a woman whose scent seems awfully familiar. Instead of calling the police, Bryanna follows the kidnapper and lands smack-dab in the middle of the adventure of her life. It's just as well she knows the old legends and myths well. The world she lands in is murderously dangerous. And even if she survives the journey, she is fated to kill her father.

After spending three weeks every year for 16 years in Scotland, author Katharina Gerlach still hasn’t lost her love for the country. "Everybody knows the Loch Ness Monster", the author says. "The others are fairly unknown outside the country. Researching Scottish lore was even more fascinating than I had anticipated. I stumbled over extremely interesting entities. Of course I had to have them in my novel."
