Oberon, Inc. Joins COWA Industrial Advisory Board

The Center on Optical Wireless Applications will play a role in developing new optical and wireless devices that will improve the named applications and reduce energy consumption and pollution.
 
March 7, 2013 - PRLog -- Oberon, Inc., a leading manufacturer of wireless infrastructure products, has joined a number of technology leadership corporations as a member of the Industrial advisory board for the Center on Optical Wireless Applications (COWA). The COWA is an Industry/University Cooperative Research Center (I/UCRC) developed under the auspices of the National Science Foundation (NSF).

This (I/UCRC), led by researchers at the Pennsylvania State University and Georgia Institute of Technology, will provide leadership to develop a new generation of environment-friendly, extremely wideband optical and/or wireless technology applications, employing solid-state devices for communications, networking, imaging, and remote sensing applications.

The primary goals of this center are to initiate formal partnership with various industry partners and national laboratories that have an interest in optical and wireless applications design. The Center has the potential to improve the profitability of industry and technical leadership of government laboratories by developing new optical and wireless devices which will improve the named applications and reduce energy consumption and pollution. Oberon joins a number of industry-leading technology companies on the industrial advisory board of COWA.
