Feb. 19, 2013 - PRLog -- Mark Lesseraux is a singer/songwriter/recording artist from Brooklyn, New York. His solo material and his work with The Citizens combines universal themes such as mortality, transcendence and human evolution with comedy and good natured sarcasm. Mark draws from a broad range of sources as a performer and writer. In his words: "I’m as influenced by people like Joseph Campbell and Mel Blanc as I am by musicians like David Bowie and Bob Dylan." Over the past decade plus, Lesseraux has created a formidable body of work, establishing himself as a first rate songwriter and performer. Mark’s on stage persona is entirely original, mixing elements of stand up comedy with deadly serious subject matter.

TRANSMISSIONS (2003-2012): Transmissions (2003–2012) is a double album on one CD. It is basically a synthesis of the material Mark has worked on as a solo performer and with his group The Citizens over the past 10 years. The first half of the record (tracks 1-11) is comprised mostly of new songs, recordings and mixes of solo material. The second half features songs recorded in studio with The Citizens (tracks 12 - 17) between 2003 and 2009, and other assorted live, 4-track and studio nuggets (tracks 18 - 22) from 2007 to 2012.

"One of the most quixotic, clever and tuneful songwriters I know, personally." Darrell McNeill, Music Director BAM
"Lesseraux is as interesting lyrically as he is musically." Music OMH
"Lesseraux can sing his ass off and he isn’t afraid to do it." Joe Tangari, Pitchfork
"One of the best singers out there." Jillann Hertel, Program Director, Brooklyn Lyceum
"Mind-twisting lyrics. Very cool stuff." Greg Tate, The Village Voice
