AGC of Michigan Hosts Annual Event at John Cowley & Sons Irish Pub

Feb. 18, 2013 - PRLog -- FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., February 18, 2013 –For the last 11 years the AGC of Michigan (Associated General Contractors) has hosted a networking/fundraising event in March for Sweet Dreamzzz, Inc.   It is held at John Cowley and Sons Irish Pub in downtown Farmington and this year it will be on Wednesday, March 13.  A $35 ticket includes great food, beverages, fellowship and a chance for some excellent prizes.  Sweet Dreamzzz™, a non-profit organization is committed to improving the health and academic performance of at-risk, school-age children and their families by providing sleep education and bedtime essentials.

This annual fundraising event for Sweet Dreamzzz helps support its mission to ensure that all local, at-risk children have a warm, comfortable night’s sleep.  Sweet Dreamzzz has several sleep education programs that they present to children in preschool through 5th grade, their teachers and their parents.  The programs are taught by trained Sleeper Teacher volunteers with hands-on games, songs and activities.  Our program teaches the children how sleep aspects them physically, socially, psychologically and academically. The at-risk children that are served receive a Sweet Dreamzzz Sleep Kit containing a sleeping bag or blanket, nightshirt, socks, toothpaste, toothbrush, crayons, stuffed animal and reading book.  The goal of Sweet Dreamzzz is to improve the quality and quantity of sleep to at-risk children in Michigan, thereby allowing them to feel more rested in school and improve their learning potential.

The AGC of Michigan is a full service construction trade association providing services to Michigan's leading general contractors, construction managers, specialty contractors and related construction industry companies. A diverse group of Michigan's leading constructors and industry-related firms make the AGC of Michigan the organization of choice for those associated with the construction industry.  The statewide organization now represents more than 400 members promoting the AGC values of skill, integrity and responsibility.  The Construction Leadership Council (CLC), a committee within the AGC, organizes the fundraising event as a networking and community service opportunity.  The purpose of the CLC is to act as a conduit for participants to network, exchange ideas about work and the industry, serve local communities and continuing education which includes both professional development and leadership skills.
