DoItInPerson.com adds new features to expand event reach through partnerships with other communities
DoItInperson.com launches new features to allow for easier event promotion and management for organizers.
The new features include:
Communities can partner on events – a long-requested feature that allows multiple communities to share events and cross promote them without having to create the event in each community. While one community must create the event, other communities can partner and list the event on their community’s page. This consolidates the event space, which often sees multiple of the same types of events with the same speakers in a given month.
Organizations can now create events – this enables organizations or brands that would normally serve only as an event partner to create their own events. While organizations do not have the features of a community, their events will be shared with their partner communities for broader reach.
Booking speakers for an event has been simplified – a feature enhancement that provides more options for an event organizer to search for and book speakers for events, add speakers to events manually and manage their event speakers.
“We launched DoItInPerson.com to bring all of the fragmented pieces of the event space together. Most organizers need to manually add all of the event data to multiple sites to share it with all of their partners, which is time consuming and inefficient,”
While still in beta, throughout 2013 DoItInPerson.com and its team will work to radically redefine the way people create, manage and promote events and become a discovery tool where members can explore, create and share their events both online and through their mobile devices. Over the next few months, additional features will be rolled out slowly to improve the user experience for both organizers and users and provide more functionality and power to the current features on the site.
“Our goal is to constantly talk to organizers, event speakers and event attendees to find out what would help them in the event process and create the tools to make them a reality,” said Aron Schoenfeld. “That is the only way we can truly empower the experience of an event.”
