3Di School Launches Guajarati Translation of its Innovative Programme in Jeevan Bharti Mandal, Surat

Jan. 28, 2013 - PRLog -- Recently, the leaders of 3Di School visited the Jeevan Bharti Mandal school, in the large metropolis of Surat laying in the west of India. This was an opportunity for Academic Director Craig Hansen, CEO Srinivas Reddy and COO Balaji Mahadevan to interact with school administration, teaching faculty and present exciting learning opportunities to the more-than 5000 students enrolled.

Beginning in 1947 with 63 pre-primary children, Jeevan Bharti Mandal has grown significantly through its focus on academic rigour and meeting the needs of children in expansive ways, such as providing a full nutritionally-measured meal for every one of the 5000+ students at a cost of Rs.1 per day! With basic needs met, learners are open to expanding their educational and employment opportunities. This led to 3Di School’s invitation to bring its expertise in ICT teaching and professional development.

“It was encouraging to find all of the teachers were interested in professional development and the school administration and Principals excited about 3D animation in their classrooms,” says Craig Hansen. “The school has a great computer department with 80 PC for student use and we can see 3Di School’s programme and its professional development integrating well into this environment. This will be the first school where we will translate the learning materials in the Guajarati language. We are focused on supporting learning through honouring the local schools we work with, whether this means tailoring the learning programmes or translating the materials, it is exciting to see barriers to learning removed and increased access to innovative teaching for all.”

3Di School has completed translation into Guajarati and is now seeking other partner schools with native dialects to enable further tailoring of the learning materials.
