Jan. 22, 2013 - PRLog -- President Obama’s inauguration speech was one of his best and one of the best by any president in recent memory, according to Virgil Scudder, the author of World Class Communication:  How great CEOS win with the public, shareholders, employees and the media and communication coach to some of the world’s top corporate CEOs.

“President Obama was powerful, commanding, and persuasive,” said Scudder.  “His projection, inflection, timing, and variation of pace, pitch, and volume made this one for speakers to study and emulate.”

Scudder added that Obama’s ability to lay out his agenda for his second term put this speech in this unique historic category.  “He put some controversial issues, such as gay rights, right at the forefront,” explained Scudder.  “He laid down the gantlet to Republicans, criticizing them openly.

“Now we have to watch how he follows up.  The State of the Union address next month will tell us a lot more about where this president intends to go in his second, and legacy-defining, term.”

In the recently released World Class Communication:  How great CEOS win with the public, shareholders, employees and the media, Scudder reveals the tools and techniques he used over a three decade career in helping CEOs of major companies become effective communicators like President Obama.  He recounts personal stories and observations from leaders of such well-known corporations as Kraft Foods, CVS/Caremark, Time Warner Cable, Avon and Volvo.  The book, which  received a prestigious ExecuRank  Distinction Award as one of the Best Business Books in 2012,  is available in major book stores and through Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com.
