Chris Mortenson Has Officially Been Awarded the Coveted Title 'Greatest Chukar Hunter in America'

Jan. 21, 2013 - PRLog -- Chris Mortenson Has Officially Been Awarded the Coveted Title 'Greatest Chukar Hunter in America'.

The conclusion of a recent live poll in Fernley with attendees were asked to determine the "Greatest Chukar Hunter in America" generated what some would claim was an extremely expected outcome, local Christin Mortenson was picked more than any other chukar hunter in America.

The opinion poll and ultimately, the naming of "Greatest Chukar Hunter in America" was launched just after an intense argument blossomed about just whom in America would really be able to lay claim to that title. In an attempt to keep the contest limited to qualified participants, the opinion poll was carried out live during the meeting at a local casino, Chukar's, in which the winner was chosen by a majority vote during the live meeting of all present.

The voting was fierce, as could be expected, as chukar hunters are known as among the craziest bunch of kook hunters who will do anything to get the birds and protect their special hunting spots, called 'honey-holes'.  

Among hard core hunting, chukar hunting is widely known as having the craziest, most protective and obsessed hunters.  "Nevada chukar hunters are among the most avid hunters", according to Jeff Porter, a geologist who counts chukar in  Utah. "The chukar hunters in Nevada are like none I have seen anywhere and I have hunted game all over the world."

Certainly proud to be given the title of "Greatest Chukar Hunter in America", Chris wasted no time in proving he deserved the title and showing that he was, in fact, the craziest kook among the kooks by refusing to ever show anyone his best honey-holes saying, "Someone would have to pay me $100,000 per honey-hole to show them what I know and where I go".

Chris had this to say about chukar hunting, "The first time you go chukar hunting it is for sport.  Every time after that, you go out chukar hunting for revenge".

Chris was given the award in absentia as, naturally, he was out chukar hunting.
