| Kma Completes Exterior Renovation Of Naval Exchange At PointKMA Architecture and Engineering announces completion of a remodel of the Naval Exchange complex in Point Mugu.
By: Chemistry Public Relations The exterior of the complex has been completely refinished to be more inviting to those who shop, eat and play there daily. Key components of the project included the removal of wood siding throughout and replacement with stucco, new doors and windows, and updated louvers. KMA’s designs also included the replacement of the covered walkways around the complex’s courtyard, updates to exterior building lighting, and a new façade design at the southwest corner of the complex. “There is a great deal of foot traffic at the Naval Exchange complex at Point Mugu and it’s important to give military personnel, their families and guests who visit it often a nice view as they enter a major hub of activity at the base,” said Tim Rubesh, principal architect at KMA. “The space already had all the necessary amenities. It just needed to give visitors a warmer welcome. The design our team came up with definitely accomplished that goal.” The project also included storm drainage improvements along the walkways of the complex’s courtyard, a CMU screen wall for exterior electrical equipment and new HVAC units for the existing retail shops. The KMA team includes Tim Rubesh, principal architect and Alison Warren, project designer. Hal Hays Construction, Inc. of Riverside, California served as the design builder and general contractor.
