TwinEngines Aligns Business Systems to Increase Operations Flow

Jan. 16, 2013 - PRLog -- Atlanta, GA. December 27, 2012. TwinEngines announces the successful completion of the first phase of services for Brickstream Corporation - a global provider of video analytics appliances - defining the business systems roadmap for its next stage of growth. TwinEngines mapped the right information technology with improved business processes and employees across sales, operations, shipping and accounting; and guided Brickstream through an enterprise software selection process.

Limitations in QuickBooks and inefficiencies using a dozen spreadsheets and email for sharing information meant that Brickstream could no longer grow business profitably. They needed help working with software vendors, understanding options - including on-premise vs. SAAS - and fitting together the pieces in the IT puzzle to cost-effectively streamline workflows and better connect employees, customers and partners.

Brickstream selected Microsoft Dynamics GP for core financial accounting, and Microsoft SharePoint Foundation was chosen as the IT platform for web portals and to deploy business applications that manage workflows and connect people and processes.

TwinEngines delivered a phased project structure for implementing the business systems strategy and defined the technology architecture. Utilizing SharePoint's web portal functionality, TwinEngines developed Brickstream's extranet for customers and BrickNet, the new company intranet for employees. Multiple versions of order spreadsheets and email orders were replaced with a new sales order application developed with secure access for customers and employees, data entry rules, automatic notifications and approval workflows.

The first phase concluded with the successful implementation of Dynamics GP, the SharePoint portals, and the sales order applications. While Brickstream gets accustomed to the new accounting software and new sales order process, TwinEngines is already developing the next phase: connecting BrickNet with Dynamics GP and connecting Brickstream's 3PL vendor for the seamless flow of inventory and orders through purchasing, sales orders, shipping and invoicing.
